* Must have 2+ years of experience working in food production *

Responsibilities
60% of the role is OPERATION;
• Reads, weighs, measures, and prepares ingredients for production; labels boxes and pails accurately
• Feeds defined quantities of ingredients/materials to hoppers and/or machines according to quality standards
• Operates depositing equipment (depositor 1-8, molding)
• Ensures labels include all necessary information (e.g. lot number of days); optimizes production time by facilitating changes in the line, chocolate tank, and drain line
• Checks production parameters (temperature, moisture) and advises if they are outside implemented standards
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems; ensures proper functioning of equipment and escalates to supervisor as required
20% is SUPPORT
• Packaging and palletizing of depositing product finished goods
• Completes production reports
• Assists in the effective set-up, start-up, and shutdown of equipment, as required. Completes pre and post-operative inspections
20% is Quality/Safety & Other
• Takes samples for Quality; tests for weight and detection of metal
• Washes and prepares equipment (e.g. trays, conveyor belts, pans, hoppers, scales, machines, etc.) in a safe and timely manner
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• 2+ years in a manufacturing or food processing environment or working as a General Production Worker, Machine Operator
• Steel-toed safety shoes required
• Able to perform physically repetitive tasks while standing, walking, or sitting
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Solid command of the English language; ability to comprehend and communicate both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions; work well in a team environment; interact with professionalism and respect
• Accuracy and attention to detail; able to administer and work with moderately complex documents and information
• Intermediate problem-solving and time management skills; able to organize and accomplish tasks within set timeframes
• Able to work in a variety of environments including wet, humid, particulate (dusty), cold, hot
• Strong can-do/ service attitude; capable of dealing with uncertainty
• Possess a continuous improvement and learning orientation; adaptable and open to change
WORKING CONDITIONS
• 80-90% of the day is spent standing, walking, bending, stooping/reaching.
• Repetitive upper body (hand, arm, shoulder, back) motion is required
• Lower body activity is common to frequent (bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, twisting) including regular lifting and/or moving items up to 50 lbs
